✈️ Flights & Accommodation
Finding the best price for flights and hotels is the foundation of every trip. Here are the platforms we turn to every single time we plan.
Booking.com
One of the largest accommodation platforms in the world, Booking.com is our go-to for hotels, apartments, and guesthouses. The free cancellation filter is a lifesaver when plans are uncertain, and the rewards program adds up quickly if you travel often.
Best for: Hotels, apartments, guesthouses worldwide
Trip.com
Trip.com is excellent for booking flights, trains, and hotels, especially across Asia. We’ve used it for connecting flights across multiple cities, and the bundled deals often work out cheaper than booking separately.
Best for: Asia travel, flight + hotel bundles, train tickets
Expedia
Expedia is great for comparing prices across flights, hotels, and car rentals all in one place. The Expedia One Key rewards system means your bookings across Hotels.com and Vrbo count too.
Best for: Package deals, price comparison, car rentals
Agoda
Agoda often has the lowest prices for hotels and homestays across Southeast and East Asia. We always cross-check Agoda when booking accommodation in Singapore, Thailand, Japan, or Korea.
Best for: Asia accommodation, last-minute deals, secret deals membership
🎟️ Activities & Experiences
Klook
Klook is our absolute favourite platform for booking tours, attraction tickets, airport transfers, and day trips. The app is clean, the e-tickets are instant, and the prices are consistently competitive. We almost always check Klook before buying anything at the gate.
Best for: Attraction tickets, day tours, airport transfers, SIM cards, travel experiences across Asia and Europe
🚌 Transport
redBus
redBus is our preferred platform for booking bus travel within Singapore and across Malaysia. If you’re doing a day trip to Johor Bahru or a weekend in Kuala Lumpur, redBus makes it straightforward to compare operators, timings, and prices.
Best for: Bus travel in Singapore & Malaysia, cross-border trips
🛡️ Travel Insurance
FWD Travel Insurance
We never travel without insurance, and FWD is the one we trust. Their plans are competitively priced, the coverage is comprehensive, and the claims process is digital and hassle-free.
Pro Tip: Always buy travel insurance before you depart — not after. Make sure your plan covers medical evacuation, trip cancellation, and lost luggage at minimum.
💳 Money & Currency
Wise (formerly TransferWise)
Wise is the smartest way to spend money abroad. The Wise multi-currency account and debit card lets you hold, convert, and spend in dozens of currencies at the real mid-market exchange rate with minimal fees.
Best for: International money transfers, multi-currency spending abroad, low conversion fees
🌐 Website & Blogging
If you’re a fellow travel blogger or thinking of starting your own travel blog, here are the tools that power Live Young Live Well.
Hostinger
Hostinger is where this website is hosted. We switched to Hostinger for its reliable performance, affordable pricing, and excellent customer support. If you’re starting a blog, their WordPress hosting plans are a great entry point.
Best for: Web hosting, WordPress blogs, domain registration
Travelpayouts
Travelpayouts is the affiliate network we use to monetise travel content. It gives access to affiliate programs from Booking.com, GetYourGuide, Klook, TripAdvisor, and many more, all in one dashboard. If you run a travel blog and want to earn from your content, this is where to start.
Best for: Travel affiliate programs, blogger monetisation, consolidated affiliate dashboard
