Why Dorf-Alm Is Worth Visiting
Dorf-Alm zu St. Wolfgang is conveniently located in St. Wolfgang village, making it a practical lunch option if you’re already exploring the area. It’s not a destination restaurant, but it serves decent traditional Austrian food in a typical alpine setting.
The outdoor terrace offers nice views of the surrounding area when weather permits, and the location is walkable from the main attractions. After spending our morning at the toboggan run, we needed somewhere to eat, and this place was convenient. The food is okay, nothing special, but it does the job if you’re hungry in St. Wolfgang.

What We Ordered & Full Review
Kleiner Beilagensalat (Small Side Salad) ⭐⭐⭐
A simple side salad with mixed greens, cucumber, and tomatoes dressed with light vinegar dressing. Nothing special, just standard Austrian salad. At €6.50, it’s a bit pricey for what you get, especially in a tourist area, but it added some freshness to the meal.
Wienerschnitzel vom Schwein (Pork Schnitzel) ⭐⭐⭐
The pork schnitzel was decent, properly thin and breaded with a crispy coating. The portion was generous and it wasn’t greasy, which is good. However, it was pretty standard fare, nothing particularly memorable. It’s fine if you want schnitzel, but it doesn’t come close to Figlmüller’s legendary Vienna version. This is just your typical, solid Austrian schnitzel that gets the job done.

Cordon Bleu vom Schwein (Pork Cordon Bleu) ⭐⭐⭐⭐
The standout dish of our meal. The Cordon Bleu was noticeably better than everything else we ordered. The breading was crispy, and the melted cheese and ham inside provided that satisfying gooey texture. The portion was generous and the execution was quite good. At €19.50, this was the dish worth ordering if you’re dining here.

STIEGL Helles Goldbräu ⭐⭐⭐⭐
Standard Austrian lager from a well-known Salzburg brewery. Crisp, refreshing, and properly chilled. Nothing extraordinary, just a decent beer to wash down the meal. At €5.50, it’s reasonably priced for a tourist area.
Prices & Value for Money
Our Total Bill: €55.00 (Approximately SGD 83.44)
| Item | Price (EUR) | Worth It? |
|---|---|---|
| Kleiner Beilagensalad | €6.50 | ⭐⭐⭐ |
| Wienerschnitzel vom Schwein | €18.50 | ⭐⭐⭐ |
| Cordon Bleu vom Schwein | €19.50 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| STIEGL Helles Goldbräu | €5.50 | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ |
| Tip | €5.00 | N/A |
Dorf-Alm offers fair value for money considering its location in St. Wolfgang, a popular tourist village. At approximately SGD 83 for two people including beer and tip, the pricing is standard for the area. The Cordon Bleu was the standout and worth ordering, while everything else was decent but unremarkable. The side salad felt a bit overpriced for what it was.

What to Order: Our Recommendations
Based on our experience and what we observed other diners enjoying, here are our top recommendations:
Must-Order Items:
- Cordon Bleu vom Schwein — We ordered this, the standout dish worth trying
- Traditional Austrian Desserts — Worth saving room for if you have a sweet tooth
- STIEGL Beer — We ordered this, refreshing and pairs well with the food
Pro Tip: Order the Cordon Bleu and skip the overpriced side salad. The schnitzel is just average, so unless you specifically want schnitzel, try something else.
Final Verdict
Overall Rating: 7/10
Dorf-Alm zu St. Wolfgang is a decent option for lunch in St. Wolfgang, especially if you’re already in the village. The food is okay, nothing exceptional, but perfectly fine for a casual meal after exploring the area. The Cordon Bleu stood out as genuinely good, while everything else was just standard Austrian fare.
The location is convenient for day-trippers, and it’s nice to have outdoor seating with mountain views. However, the food quality doesn’t quite justify going out of your way to visit. It’s the kind of place that works well when you need a meal in St. Wolfgang, but wouldn’t be a destination restaurant on its own.
Would we return? Maybe, if we were back in St. Wolfgang and needed lunch. We’d definitely order the Cordon Bleu again and skip the overpriced side salad.
Best For: Convenient lunch spot in St. Wolfgang, casual dining after the toboggan run or lake activities, decent Austrian food without high expectations.
